Tenerife is the largest island of the Canary Archipelago with 2054 square kilometers. Known as the Island of eternal spring, because its peerless climate, is full of huge contrasts and a great variety of scenery in different regions. A mountain chain runs through its center from Anaga to Teno and on both of its slopes there are large, exuberantly fertile valleys among them, the valleys of la Orotava and Güimar. In the heart of the chain there is a gigantic natural crater called Cañadas del Teide and has officially been declared and elected by UNESCO as National Park, Natural Heritage of Humanity.

In its center stands volcano Teide, highest point from Spain with 3.718 meters high above sea level, and the most visited National Park in Spain and Europe.

• Did you know...?

  That in the Canaries, you can find the most important laurel forests belonging to the tertiary that still do survive in the Macaronesian Islands and in the whole world. Best examples are found in the islands of la Gomera and the forests of Las Mercedes and Anaga in Tenerife.

  The Canaries host one of the most important indigenous Flora in the world

  Tenerifan cured goats cheese was awarded best cheese in the world final of the 2008 World Cheese Awards held in Dublin, Ireland.

  Viniculture dates back to the conquest, and in the 16th and 17th centuries, wine production played an important role in the economy. Writers such as William Shakespeare make reference to the wine in some of their works.

  National Park of Teide- Highest peak in Spain. An essential visit.

  Historical Centers - Santa Cruz (the Capital) with a great commercial activity very close to the sea with it’s large port and the old town such as La Laguna, which is declared as cultural and world heritage by the Unesco. It is followed by Monte las   Mercedes which are famous for the number of unique species of Laurel in Tenerife & Gomera.

   La Orovata, which is an historical place and whose valley is sourrounded by Puerto de la Cruz, the most important tourist city located in the North of the Island, where you can find the famous Loro Park.

  Isla Baja has four municipalities: The most important are; Icod de los Vinos, because of itsancient dragon (greatest treasure of the Canarian Flora) and Garachico, former capital comercial of Tenerife, where the Volcan Travejo, burried the port area in 1706, being a major event in the town’s history.

  Los Gigantes –Masca: their impressive steep sides drop from heights that can reach, in some areas, 600 meters, sea beds about 300 meters deep. This has a great natural wealth that attracts diving and fishing enthusiasts.

  Caserio of Masca, (with its deepest canyons of Tenerife) inside the Teno Rural Park, is the best example of our Canarian architecture

  Maritime Excursions: Mainly, the Island of La Gomera: Due to the mountainous landscape to a gran massif, Alto de Garajonay, it was declared as a National Park. The famous Whistle language is used by the habitants to communicate between each other from one mountain to the other.
