• Getting there

  Opening hours
  Banks and Exchange Bureaux are open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 15:00 hours and the Shops from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 20:00 hours in the big cities (in the inner part of the country it is usual to make a break at midday) and Saturdays from 9:00 to 13:00 hours. Shoppings stay open every days. The legal tender notes are  100, 50, 20, 10, 5 y 2 Pesos, and the coins 1 Peso, 50, 25, 10 y 5 cents (there are also 1 cent coins but they are rarely used).

  Currency
  The most well known and accepted credit cards are: American Express, Master Card, VISA and Diners. The legal tender currency in our country is the Argentine Peso. Several shops accept Dollars, however, it is convenient to exchange them in Banks and authorized Exchange Bureaux.

  Climate
  Remember that in the Southern hemisphere the seasons are the opposite to those in the Northern hemisphere. The high season in Argentina takes place during the months of January and February (summer holidays) and July (winter holidays). During those periods the local tourism grows and prices get generally higher.
  You can enjoy Buenos Aires the whole year even though in summer (especially January and February), it is too hot. Summer (January, February and part of December and March), is the most favourable season to visit the Patagonia (Andean and Atlantic); the central Sierras (Cordoba and San Luis); and the Sierras and beaches of the Buenos Aires cost.  Winter (June, July and August), is advisable to travel to the North and Northwest for the rains are less frequent and the tropical temperature drops a few degrees. Autumm and Spring are ideal for the Cuyo Region even though summer is a good time to visit it too. July and August are the most convenient months for the practice of ski in the varid Winter Ski Centres that our country offers. Winter and Spring are appropiate to visit Misiones and its Iguazu Falls (Summer is too hot).

  City Tour in Buenos Aires
  When you take this tour, you will discover all the magic of Argentina's capital city. The tour includes the magnificent Recoleta end Palermo neighborhoods, with all the beauty and elegance of their parks and buildings, the Colon Theatre, one of the five most important opera theatres in the world; Mayo Square, around which the history and political life of the country have taken place throughout the years; the Pink House, the Cathedral, the typical Mayo Avenue, the Congress and many other buildings and palaces of special architectural, historical and cultural value. Our tour continues in San Telmo, home to the XIX century aristocracy of the city, Caminito in the colorful neighborhood of Italian immigrants called La Boca, and the very recently renovated and newest area of the city: Puerto Madero. There are three stops: (Palermo or Recoleta, Plaza de Mayo and La Boca).

  Tierra del Fuego National Park (Ushuaia)
  Duration: 4 hours.
  Located only 11 km from the city. We will be able to admire lakes, lagoons and rivers, and their exit towards Canal Beagle. We leave from the Ushuaia port towards the southwest area by the national route no. 3. We will pass Monte Susana, witness of the the convicts works of the old military prison, and we stop at the End of the World Station. Here we will stop for an optional tour. Then we continue throughout the Pipo River valley where we will be able to contemplate the Redonda and Estorbo Islands, and the Nevado Mounts of the Sampaio Chain (Chile). We go back on the route no. 3, through a narrow way that its side shows the different species our fuegian flora, we will arrive to the Roca Lake and we will walk by the coast of the Lake and the Lapataia River. From this place we can see the amazing view of the Condor Hill. We will go towards Lapataia Bay, at the other end of the Park, where ends the route no. 3 ends. At In this passage we will observe the Green Lagoon and the Black Lagoon, a large peat bog continuously growing. Finally we will pass by the beaver dams; their footpath will lead us to Lapataia Bay.

  Humahuaca (Jujuy)
  The journey leaves from Salta, but really begins once arrived to Purmamarca Village with free time to observe the Seven Colored Hill, the Church, the Craft Market on the square, and a short walk along its narrow streets. We continue towards the town of Tilcara where we visit the Pucará (ancient ruins), the Archaeological Museum, Huacalera, and then we cross the Capricorn Tropic, from where the colors of La Pollera del Coya Hill can be seen and really good pictures can be taken because of the light. We visit Uquía and its church, where the paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels (important vestige in the zone of the Cuzqueña School) are kept. Arrival to Humahuaca will be at noon; this town has an important Church and the Independence Monument (the Indian) of the sculptor Soto Avendaño. After lunch we´ll observe, from the route, La Paleta del Pintor (Paintor´s Palette) framing the town of Maimara. We continue to San Salvador de Jujuy where the Flag Hall and the Cathedral, characterized by its pulpit carved in wood and gold and the statues of Lola Mora are visited. Return to Salta.

  Peninsula Valdes (Puerto Madryn)
  You will visit one of the selected places as Natural Patrimony of the Humanity by the UNESCO. A variety of terrestrial and marine fauna not usually seen in the same place are its unique characteristics. We will pick you up early in the morning to let you discover the natural reserves and the tourist points of the protected area of Peninsula Valdés, like the Centre of Interpretation Istmo Ameghino, the Island of the birds, the colony of sea lions in Punta Pirámides, the tourist village of Puerto Piramides, where it is optional to do the Whale Watching (from June to December), the Small and Large Salt lakes (witch are among the greater depressions of America), the colonies of sea elephants in Punta Delgada, Caleta Valdés and Punta Cantor, visiting the Lighthouse of Punta Norte in the season of killer whales. During the way, we will have the possibility to see a lot of terrestrial fauna: lamas guanacos, Patagonian hare, grey foxes, Patagonian piche or armadillos and Darwin’s rheas. During all the day you will be assisted by our guides, an expert of the Patagonian nature. Full Day Excursion, covering a distance of approx. 400 km. (Departure time around 8.00h) It is carried out all the year; according to the season, our tour may suffer some changes in the itinerary and the reserves visited according to the fauna. We suggest comfortable clothes, hat and solar protection. It does not include: the entrance fee to the reserve, lunch, the Whales Watching.

  Circuit Chico- Small Circuit – Half Day Tour/ Roundtrip 70 km
  This pleasant drive starts in Bariloche and goes west by Ezequiel Bustillo Ave. along the southern shore of the Nahuel Huapi Lake. After 8 kms we arrive at Playa Bonita where we have a view of the Huemul Island. Cerro Campanario is 18 km away from town down this road. There you can take a chairlift to the summit to overlook the lakes of Nahuel Huapi and Moreno, Victoria Island, Llao Llao Hotel, Peninsula San Pedro, El Trebol Lagoon, and mountains such as Millaqueo, Capilla, Lopez, Goye, Catedral and Otto. The ride continues passing by Peninsula Llao Llao, where the famous Llao Llao hotel and San Eduardo Chapel are situated, arriving then at Puerto Pañuelo on the Nahuel Huapi Lake. The drive goes on through a dense forest of Coihue trees that is considered a municipal protected area and where you can hike on clearly marked trails. After going over the bridge that crosses the stream that joins the Moreno with the Nahuel Huapi lakes,  the road follows the southern shore of Lake Moreno passing by Mount Lopez and Punto Panoramico (a scenic view point overlooking lakes Moreno and Nahuel Huapi and Peninsula Llao Llao). You cross the bridge over the narrowest point on Lake Moreno, then you border El Trebol Lagoon and later the road takes you back to Ezequiel Bustillo Ave. from where you return to the city.

  Planned Itinerary:

  Day 1 - Buenos Aires
  Arrival and welcome. Transfer to hotel. Free day.
  Day 2 - Buenos Aires
  Breakfast. Sightseeing: Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the Cathedral. We follow the Avenida de Mayo, Florida Street and Plaza San Martin. Free day. We will get to know the different neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. At night we can go to a tango show.
  Day 3 - Buenos Aires / Puerto Madryn
  Breakfast. Departure flight to Trelew and then to Puerto Madryn.
  Day 4 - Puerto Madryn (Peninsula Valdés)
  Breakfast. Full day excursion to Peninsula Valdes. We visited the colony of sea lions, elephant seals and Caleta Valdés, a narrow strip of land 25 km  south of Punta Norte, which separates the open sea from a lagoon. Later we continue to Puerto Piramides, where we board a boat to spot the whales (July to November). That brings us closer to the seal colony of Puerto Piramide, a colony of 1,500 sea lions that arrive in January for the pairing season. Return to Puerto Madryn.
  Day 5 - Puerto Madryn / Ushuaia
  Breakfast. Departure to Trelew to take the flight to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world.
  Day 6 - Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)
  Breakfast. In the morning we make an excursion to the National Park of Tierra del Fuego. We visited the Rock and Bay Lake Lapataia. In the afternoon we recommend optionally to take a cruise on the Beagle Canal, from the Bay of Ushuaia to the Island of Lobos.
  Day 7 - Ushuaia / El Calafate
  Breakfast. Departure flight to Calafate on Lake Argentino. The Los Glaciares National Park, extensive natural set full of lakes and impressive glaciers, located 75 km away.
  Day 8 - El Calafate (Glacier Perito Moreno)
  Breakfast. In the morning visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier, declared World Heritage by UNESCO. In the afternoon: sailing, boat ride to the base of the glacier, with an incredible view. Return to Calafate.
  Day 9 - Calafate
  Breakfast. Free day at your disposal. We recommend the optional tour "All Glaciers" that allows us to admire other towering glaciers of the park.
  Day 10 - Calafate / Bariloche
  Breakfast. Departure flight to San Carlos de Bariloche. Free afternoon.
  Day 11 - Bariloche
  Breakfast. Morning visit the Bell Tower, where we can optionally ascend by Chairlift, Lake El Trebol, Panoramic Point, Lopez Bay and the spectacular hotel Llao Llao. Free afternoon.
  Day 12 - Bariloche / Iguazu
  Breakfast. Departure flight via Buenos Aires to Iguazu. Rest of day free.
  Day 13 - Iguazu
  Breakfast. Visit to Niagara Falls, visiting the Argentine side, with upper and lower circuits and the magnificent leap "Garganta del Diablo", which is the most beautiful spectacle of this national park. Free afternoon.
  Day 14 - Iguazu / Buenos Aires
  Breakfast. Visit the Niagara Falls on the Brazilian side. In the afternoon transfer to airport and return to Buenos Aires.
  Day 15 - Buenos Aires
  Breakfast. Free day. We recommend an excursion to the Tigre Delta.
  Day 16 - Buenos Aires
  Breakfast. Free time to take the flight to Buenos Aires.

  Day 1: Arrival Salta City
  Use this charming city as your base for the first few days. Fly in the early morning from Buenos Aires and check into the down-to-earth but efficient Hotel del Antiguo Convento. Stroll through the lovely plaza and visit the gilded Iglesia San Francisco and the baroque Salta Cathedral. Have lunch in the sunny courtyard of Casa Moderna, Vte. Lopez 423, before doing what the locals do and take a well-deserved siesta. Early evening is spent in the fascinating MAAM, known locally as the mummy museum. Enjoy a Torrontes wine at Café Van Gogh on the plaza before going to Salta's finest restaurant José Balcarce.
  Day 2: Shopping in Salta
  This special city deserves more than 1 day. Take the cable car to San Bernardo Hill and enjoy panoramic views of the city while sipping a coffee. Then take a taxi to the hilltop village of San Lorenzo, where you can enjoy a lunch at the Tuscan-style El Castillo de San Lorenzo hotel. After the siesta, take a taxi ride to the Mercado Artesanal, located in a pretty, renovated millhouse. Here you can enjoy afternoon tea with genuine local products. Back in the city, freshen up before hitting Salta's nightlife street Calle Balcarce. Enjoy a foot-stomping music session at Café de Tiempo and later join the dancing yourself at the numerous clubs and discos nearby.
  Day 3: Wine Tasting in Cafayate
  Check out of your hotel and go south in a rental car as far as the wine town of Cafayate. The red rock scenery is gorgeous, and the 3-hour journey goes by quickly.
  Enjoy a light lunch on the plaza of this sleepy village before visiting El Porvenir winery for excellent wines and El Esteco for palatial architecture. Both are within the town limits. Check into the atmospheric Killa Cafayate and dine on llama at Machacha restaurant.
  Day 4: Cachi
  As its name implies, this hilltop village will take a hold of you. Its sparkling white adobe cottages and quaint church take you back in time. Visit the archaeological museum to see the area's rich Incan heritage. In the afternoon, check into the luxurious La Merced del Alto, where you can enjoy a beautiful dinner beneath the stars.
  Day 5: Quebrada de Humahuaca
  Jujuy province is the last stop before Bolivia. Drive north from Salta along the multicolored mountain range Quebrada de Humahuaca, which will make even the most experienced traveler gasp. Turn off the main road to visit the quaint village of Purmamarca and its technicolor backdrop. Continue north until you reach the town of Tilcara, a cobblestoned gem with old-world charm. Dine at busy Los Puestos before visiting the indigenous ruins of Pucará. Continue north along the main road before you reach sleepy Humahuaca village, where you can browse through the plaza market before turning south toward Salta. Treat yourself to some pampering at the House of Jasmines before leaving the next day.

  Carnival

  In Argentina, the most representative Carnival performed is the so called Murga, although other famous Carnival, more Brazilian style, are held in the Argentine Mesopotamia and the North-East. Gualeguaychú in the east of Entre Ríos province is the most important Carnival city and has one of the largest parades, with a similar afro-American musical background like Brazilian or Uruguayan Carnival. Corrientes is another city with a lively Carnival tradition. Chamame, a kind of polka is played during the Carnivals. In all major cities and many towns throughout the country, Carnival is also celebrated, but less famous than in the above mentioned places. As Carnival coincides with summer, in many parts of Argentina children play with water. The 19th century tradition of filling empty egg shells with water has evolved into water games that include the throwing of water balloons.

  The Grape Harvest Festival (Mendoza)

  Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia (The Grape Harvest Festival) takes place annually in the city of Mendoza, Mendoza Province, Argentina. It is one of the most important festivals in the country attracting large numbers of tourists to the region. It is a world renowned celebration of wine and the winemaking industry. Each of the 18 departments in Mendoza Province prepare for the festival in the early months of the year. The main event occurs in the first week of March in Mendoza city featuring hundreds of dancers and performers, the selection of a "Reina Nacional de la Vendimia" (National Vendimia Queen) and a large firework display.

  Rally Argentina (Cordoba)

  Rally Argentina is a category created several years ago by a group of pilots led by Raul Jorge Recalde, in order to drive and lead a very particular category, such as rally, and it has many followers throughout the country.

  Always with the idea of promoting competition while respecting the estates of the FIA and the Motor Sports Commission Automobile Club Argentino, the category has evolved according to the new demands of the specialty worldwide.

  Rally Argentina is one of the most important categories that today is our national motorsport.

  National Snow Festival (Bariloche)

  Since 1970 it is held in August and lasting one week, an event highly anticipated by barilochenses and tourists. Year after year renewed but without abandoning the traditional activities like boys race, the national snow queen contest, the axemen contest, waiters race, pullover contest, the torchlight parade of the hill and as dazzling firework show as the summit of the party.
